Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen’s Thalaivan Thalaivii, directed by Pandiraj, has now stormed past the coveted Rs 100 crore mark at the worldwide box office. The film, which has been holding strong since its release, crossed the milestone after maintaining consistent momentum over the past weeks.
Celebrating the achievement, the production house Sathya Jyothi Films took to X and wrote, “Families’ favourite #ThalaivanThalaivii marks 100 CR worldwide gross with your endless love & support ❤️.”
The emotional rural drama follows the journey of Agasaveeran (Vijay Sethupathi) and Perarasi (Nithya Menen), a food-loving couple whose relationship takes a turbulent turn after marriage. Their struggles, laced with humour and heartfelt emotions, have resonated with audiences, drawing praise for the lead pair’s chemistry.
Critics too have lauded the film. Cinema Express, in its review, noted, “Pandiraj reins in the melodrama by relying on relentless comedy that is organically built out of the various relationships depicted in the film, especially the one between Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen's characters.”
The film also features Yogi Babu, Chemban Vinod Jose, Saravanan, Kaali Venkat, RK Suresh, Mynaa Nandhini, Deepa, Roshini Haripriyan, and Sendrayan in key roles. On the technical front, Thalaivan Thalaivii boasts cinematography by M Sukumar, music by Santhosh Narayanan, and editing by Pradeep E Ragav.
