Stunt choreographer Stunt Silva, known for his innovative fight sequences across several film industries, won the Mazhavil Manorama award for Best Stunt Choreographer. He received this award for his work on both Empuraan, starring Mohanlal and directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Thudarum, also starring Mohanlal and directed by Tharun Moorthy.

Empuraan also won the Box Office Film award. Both Empuraan and Thudaram were among this year’s most anticipated releases.

Silva began his career as a junior artist in 7/G Rainbow Colony (2004) and progressed to working in films such as Chhatrapati (2005 - Telugu), Anniyan (2005), Ashok, and Bommarillu (2006 - Telugu). He transitioned to stunt direction in the 2007 Telugu film Yamadonga, and his first Tamil film as a stunt director was Yaaradi Nee Mohini (2008). Since then, he has become known for his stunts in films such as Mankatha, Jilla, Veeram, Anjaan, Vedalam, Abrahaminte Santhathikal, Lucifer, Master, Kaapa, and Maanaadu.

He has won several awards over the years, including the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Stunt Coordinator in Vettai (2012).
