Producer Soundarya Rajinikanth penned a heartfelt note for her father after watching Coolie and appreciated him for his performance in the Lokesh Kanagaraj film. She said that she was a proud daughter and that she loved him more than what she could ever say.

Penning the post on her social media timeline on the occasion of her father completing 50 glorious years in the film industry, she wrote, "50 years, Appa. You haven’t just been part of cinema... you’ve shaped it, redefined it, elevated it, and carried it into places it had never been before. You’ve inspired generations, set benchmarks, and become the heartbeat of the industry."

She further said, "I’m a proud daughter, and I love you more than I can ever say...The last 10 minutes flashback of Coolie — I’ll watch again and again, and keep cheering every single time. You’re the best, Appa. The one and only. Thalaivar Nirandharam."

Soundarya's post is the latest in a long list of heartwarming messages that were sent actor Rajinikanth's way on Thursday. Several directors, producers and actors wished him for the latest film and for his 50 years in the industry.

In Coolie, a former coolie union leader investigates the death of his friend which leads him to a crime syndicate. The film stars an ensemble cast featuring Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj and Rachita Ram, with Aamir Khan and Pooja Hegde in special appearances.

Following a glorious reception on its opening day, the film had earned over Rs 151 crore worldwide, becoming the highest-ever day 1 earnings for a Tamil film. Coolie also gave the star his career-best opening. Out of the Rs 151 crore, Rs 65 crore came from India.
