The makers of Sivakarthikeyan's upcoming film Madharaasi, helmed by AR Murugadoss, had announced that a special glimpse from the film will be screened in theatres during Coolie intermission.
The over 30-second glimpse of the film was filled with action-packed sequences, teasing the looks of the antagonist, played by Vidyut Jammwal, and the female lead, starring Rukmini Vasanth.
Madharaasi marks the first collaboration between Sivakarthikeyan and Murugadoss, while it is a reunion between the director and Vidyut Jammwal after the 2012 film Thuppakki.
The makers of the film recently dropped the first single 'Salambala'. It was a peppy number where the male lead is coping and recovering from a breakup.
While nothing about the plotline of Madharaasi is known, Murugadoss, in an interview, said it will combine Ghajini and Thuppakki in script and action, respectively.
Produced by N Srilakshmi Prasad of Sri Lakshmi Movies, the film also stars Biju Menon, Vikranth, and Shabeer Kallarakkal in pivotal roles.
Music composer Anirudh, cinematographer Sudeep Elamon, and editor A Sreekar Prasad make up Madharaasi's technical crew.
Madharaasi will release on September 5, 2025, in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. In Hindi, the film has been titled Dil Madharaasi.
