As Rajinikanth clocked 50 years in cinema, wishes from the tinseltown poured in for the actor and his film Coolie, releasing on Thursday. Among those who paid tribute was actor Sivakarthikeyan.
Actor Sivakarthikeyan wrote on his X handle that he grew up watching Rajinikanth, mimicked him, and walked in his footsteps. He further wrote, "To be in the same field as you is my greatest fortune. Thank you for inspiring me. Congratulations on your 50 years of magnanimous legacy. Coolie will be yet another diamond in your crown."
He wished the Coolie team ahead of its release tomorrow.
Produced by Kalanithi Maran under his Sun Pictures, Coolie boasts an ensemble star cast of Rajinikanth, Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, and Soubin Shahir.
Apart from Anirudh, the technical crew has cinematographer Girish Gangadharan, editor Philomin Raj, and stunt choreographers Anbariv. The film's dialogues are written by Lokesh and Chandhru Anbazhagan, who have also contributed to the additional screenplay.
Coolie is releasing in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada.
Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan, who was last seen in Amaran, is awaiting the release of his next film, Madharaasi, directed by AR Murugadoss, hitting screens on September 5. He is also working with filmmaker Sudha Kongara in Parasakthi, with an untitled film with Venkat Prabhu expected to go on floors later this year.
