
With the winners of the 71st National Film Awards being announced on August 1, actor Dhanush took to social media to congratulate his longtime collaborator GV Prakash Kumar for his National Award win for Vaathi.
GV Prakash Kumar won his second National Award for Best Music Direction for Vaathi. He shares the award with Harshavardhan Rameshwar, who won the award for Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal. Dhanush, who was the lead in the film, took to X and wrote, "My heartfelt congratulations to all the winners of the 71st National Film Awards." He added, "A special shoutout to my brother GV Prakash Kumar on winning his second National Award for Vaathi. This one makes me personally very hapy, and I know the best is yet to come from him. Excitedd for all the collaborations ahead!"
He also congratulated MS Bhaskar who won the award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Parking. MS Bhaskar shares the award with Vijayaraghavan, who won it for Pookkaalam.
"Big congratulations as well to the team of Parking, and last but certain not least to MS Bhaskar sir on his much deserved recognition - an incredible talent finally receiving the appreciation he truly deserves," wrote Dhanush in his statement.
The film, which was directed by Venky Atluri, also starred Samyuktha, Samuthirakani, Tanikella Bharani, and Aadukalam Naren. Dhanush and GV Prakash Kumar have collaborated on films like Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Mayakkam Enna, Asuran, Maaran, and Captain Miller.
