Reflecting on his career decisions, AR Murugadoss candidly said that he regrets taking up some opportunities rather than missing them.

In an interaction with the popular Tamil media outlet Vikatan, Murugadoss stated that he had chosen certain projects hastily and later regretted them. He added, "Of course, I do have missed opportunities. But in comparison, proceeding with wrong projects proved costly."

He mentioned certain projects he missed due to scheduling conflicts, but he has always wanted to start his career with a children's film. He mentioned that there are certain films with actors he couldn't participate in due to schedule conflicts, but he always wanted to start his career with a children's film. "I worked on a kids' entertainer with four children and their parents. I wanted to start my career with that film, but it couldn't happen. Then I tried to make it a few years ago, the project shuttled between multiple production houses, but did not materialise. I understand the hesitation because the film should be made on a big canvas, but it has no stars. That is one project that has stayed with me for a long time. I wish to do that someday."

On the work front, the director's upcoming film Madharaasi, starring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead, is set for a theatrical release on September 5. He last made Sikandar, starring Salman Khan, Rashmika Mandanna and Sathyaraj.
