The terrorist attack in Pahalgam has shaken the nation, with latest reports suggesting casualties ranging up to 26. Alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi, many public personalities have condemned the attack and expressed their condolences to the families of the demised. "Horrified to know of the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam. Sheer evil to kill innocent people like this. Prayers for their families," wrote Hindi actor Akshay Kumar. On the other hand, Kamal Haasan wrote, "I strongly condemn the heinous terror attack in Pahalgam. My thoughts are with the families who have lost their loved ones, and I wish strength and recovery to the injured." The actor emphasised the importance of unity in the hour of crisis. "India stands united—in grief, in resolve, and in our commitment to uphold law, order, and national security," Kamal added.

Kashmir-based actor Hina Khan also expressed her sense of aghast through Instagram. "Pahalgam, why why why," she wrote on her Instagram Story.

Sanjay Dutt, on the other hand, urged retaliation against the terrorists. Underscoring the unforgivable nature of the attack, Sanjay wrote on X, "We need to retaliate, I request our Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, Home Minister Amit Shah ji and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh ji to give them what they deserve."

Also joining the chorus of condemnation against the attacks is Anupam Kher on X (formerly Twitter). Anupam described it with a word that roughly translates to "murderous carnage" and spoke about the heinous nature of the crimes on video.

On the other hand, Mohanlal wrote, "My heart goes out to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. It is devastating to witness such cruelty. No cause can ever justify the taking of innocent lives. To the grieving families, your sorrow is beyond words. Please know that you are not alone. The entire nation stands with you in mourning. Let us hold on to each other a little tighter and never let go of the hope that peace will prevail even in the face of darkness."
