Ajith's much-anticipated upcoming film Good Bad Ugly, directed by Adhik Ravichandran, has sparked excitement among fans ever since its announcement. With the film gearing up for release on April 10, promotions have been going in full swing and theatres have already witnessed massive pre-bookings for the action entertainer. However, in an unfortunate incident, a large 200-ft-tall cut-out of Ajith Kumar, that was raised with several metal rods, collapsed on Sunday at a local theatre in Tirunelveli.
Videos of the incident, reported to have taken place at PSS Theatre in Vannarapettai, have gone viral on social media. While no deaths or injuries were registered, the chaotic scenes have raised serious safety concerns amid the fan frenzy.
Banner and poster cut-outs of stars raised during early morning shows on the day of release have often led to tragedies. In 2023, a fan lost his life in Chennai while attending a 4 am show of Ajith's Thunivu. Since then, the Tamil Nadu government had banned early morning shows in the state.
The cast of Good Bad Ugly alongside Ajith Kumar are Trisha, Arjun Das, Shine Tom Chacko, BS Avinash, Prabhu, Prasanna, Rahul Dev, Yogi Babu, and Sunil.
The trailer of the film, which was released recently was replete with nostalgia as Trisha's character recalls an incident that happens between them in Mankatha, and Simran, whose role was kept under wraps till now, was seen saying that it's been a long time and that she misses him a lot. It also has Ajith uttering the popular "Kai Irukkum Kaal Irukkum..." line from his film Dheena. The trailer is combined with nostalgic moments along with action sequences.
On the technical side, Abinandhan Ramanujam is the director of photography, Vijay Velukutty is the editor, and GM Sekhar is the production designer, with Supreme Sundar and Kaloian Vodenicharov handling the stunts. The film is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar, with Shiv Chanana as the co-producer.
