
Actor Dhanush, who was last seen in his directorial Raayan, will be headlining his 52nd film which will be backed by Dawn Pictures in their maiden production venture.
In a statement that they released on social media, producer Aakash Baskaran of Dawn Pictures said that the prestigious project marks a significant milestone for their production house and that they are committed to producing "heartfelt and innovative content that resonates with audiences worldwide."
"We sincerely thank Dhanush sir for this wonderful opportunity to collaborate with him on this exciting new journey," he added.
Although the makers have not announced cast details or the story for the upcoming film, speculations are rife that it would be Dhanush's fourth directorial after Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam. The film will reportedly star the Captain Miller actor in the lead role with Arun Vijay, Ashok Selvan, Nithya Menen, Sathyaraj and Rajkiran playing prominent roles. An official announcement is yet to confirm the news.
After Raayan, Dhanush is working on his third directorial Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam which stars Pavish, Anikha Surendran, Priya Prakash Varrier, Matthew Thomas, Venkatesh Menon, Rabiya Khatoon, and Ramya Ranganathan in pivotal roles. On the acting front, he has a long list of films including Sekhar Kammula's Kubera, the Ilayaraaja biopic Maestro, directed by Arun Matheswaran, Mari Selvaraj's untitled film and Aanand L Rai's Tere Ishq Mein in the pipeline.
