Sivakarthikeyan's Amaran is locked and loaded for Diwali release as the makers have announced that the Maaveeran actor along with the other members of the cast have completed dubbing for their portions in the film.

Directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy of Rangoon-fame, Amaran tells the story of late army officer Major Mukund Varadarajan. The story is based on Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh's book India's Most Fearless. The film stars Sivakarthikeyan as Major Mukund Varadarajan, a commissioned officer in the Indian Army's Rajput Regiment. Mukund Varadarajan was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra for his act of bravery during a counterterrorism operation while on deputation to the 44th Rashtriya Rifles battalion in Jammu and Kashmir.

The film also stars Sai Pallavi in a lead role. On the technical front, it has music by GV Prakash, cinematography by CH Sai, editing by Kalaivanan, and stunt direction by Stefan Richter. 

The film is being bankrolled by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International along with Sony Pictures International Productions.

Upon release on October 31, the film will clash with Jayam Ravi's Brother and Kavin's Bloody Beggar.
