The makers of Rajinikanth's next, Vettaiyan, released the first single of the film titled 'Manasilayo' on Monday.
Set on the lines of 'Chumma Kizhi' (Darbar), 'Manasilayo' is a celebratory song where Rajinikanth's character is accorded a grand welcome, apparently before taking charge.
'Manasilayo' is taken from the popular line spoken by Vinayakan in Rajini's previous flick Jailer. Late singer Malaysia Vasudevan's voice was recreated through AI for the song, with Yugendran Vasudevan, Anirudh Ravichander and Deepthi Suresh also lending vocals. The song is penned by Super Subu and Vishnu Edavan.
Directed by TJ Gnanavel, Vettaiyan stars an ensemble cast that includes Amitabh Bachchan (in his Tamil debut), Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, and VJ Rakshan. Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth are reuniting for this film after 33 years.
The cast had recently finished dubbing for their portions in the film.
Vettaiyan marks Anirudh's fourth collaboration with Rajinikanth, after Petta (2019), Darbar (2020), and Jailer (2023). Other technical members include cinematographer SR Kathir and editor Philomin Raj.
Vettaiyan is scheduled to hit theatres on October 10 in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada.
