Vijay's latest film, The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), reportedly collected Rs 43 crore in India on its opening day, according to an estimate by Sachnik. This becomes the biggest opening day collection of 2024 in Tamil Cinema, surpassing the Dhanush-starrer Raayan and the Kamal Haasan's Indian 2.
However, this figure is lesser compared to Vijay's previous film Leo, which collected Rs 63 crore on its first day. Varisu, his earlier 2023 release, collected 26.5 crore on its opening day, releasing alongside Ajith's Thunivu.
On the other hand, an estimate by Pinkvilla mentioned the opening day collection of GOAT to be Rs 55 crore.
Apart from Vijay, GOAT also stars Prashanth, Ajmal Ameer, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prabhudeva, Mohan, and Jayaram in prominent roles. Joining them are Venkat Prabhu's frequent collaborators Vaibhav, Premgi, Ajai Raj, and Aravind Akash.
GOAT, directed by Venkat Prabhu, has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by Siddhartha Nuni, editing by Venkat Raajen, art direction by Rajeevan, and action choreography by Dileep Subbarayan. Kalpathi S Aghoram has produced the film under the AGS Entertainment banner, with Archana Kalpathi serving as the creative producer.
The film released in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu, with Zee Studios distributing it across North Indian states in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
