Vijay's latest film, The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), reportedly collected Rs 43 crore in India on its opening day, according to an estimate by Sachnik. This becomes the biggest opening day collection of 2024 in Tamil Cinema, surpassing the Dhanush-starrer Raayan and the Kamal Haasan's Indian 2

However, this figure is lesser compared to Vijay's previous film Leo, which collected Rs 63 crore on its first day. Varisu, his earlier 2023 release, collected 26.5 crore on its opening day, releasing alongside Ajith's Thunivu.

On the other hand, an estimate by Pinkvilla mentioned the opening day collection of GOAT to be Rs 55 crore.
