The teaser for director Prasadh Murugan's upcoming hyper-link thriller Once Upon a Time in Madras, starring Bharath in the lead, was unveiled on Sunday.

The teaser shows various dwellers of the Madras city. Bharath seems to be a commoner, while Abhirami plays a sanitation worker. The fates of all of these individuals, who seem to be strangers, intertwine them at a common point.

The extended cast of Once Upon a Time in Madras includes, Shaan, Thalaivasal Vijay, PGS, Rajaji, Anjali Nair, Pavithra Lakshmi, Syed, Kalki, and Sini, among others.

Earlier, speaking at the press meet of Once Upon a Time in Madras, actor Abhirami said the film has elements of politics, crime, action, and emotions, and added it also got things right with regards to representation as the makers have cast a transperson to play a crucial transperson character instead of going for a male.

Bharath said he chose some of his iconic films, such as Emden Magan and Pattiyal, as the stories had a'striking point'. He added it was a similar case with Once Upon a Time in Madras and accepted just listening to his segment with the confidence that the director would have done a good job with the other segments too.

Once Upon a Time in Madras is produced by MP Anand under Friday Film Factory, and co-produced by Haroon, Bala, and PGS. On the technical front, the film has editing by San Lokesh, cinematography by K S Kalidoss and R Kannan, music by Jose Franklin, and stunts by Sugan.

Once Upon a Time in Madras is all set to hit theatres on September 26.
