Nelson confirms sequel to Jailer with Rajinikanth

Rumours have been rife about a sequel to Jailer, the 2023 Rajinikanth starrer, and Nelson confirmed that it is on. Speaking at a recent event, Nelson said that there would be an update about the film with an official announcement from producer Sun Pictures soon. Reportedly, the screenplay for the film has been finished, and an announcement is expected before Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan hits theatres.

One of 2023's highest-grossing films, Jailer also stars Vinayakan, Vasanth Ravi, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Tamannaah, Mirnaa Menon, Sunil, Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Jackie Shroff, Kishore, and Makarand Deshpande. On the technical front, it has music by Anirudh Ravichander, editing by R Nirmal, and cinematography by Vijay Kartik Kannan.

The makers are expected to announce further details about the sequel soon.

Rajinikanth's upcoming films also include Vettaiyan, with director TJ Gnanavel, which is slated for an October 10 release, and Coolie, his first film with director Lokesh Kanagaraj.
