
We had earlier reported that Arjun Sarja's next directorial has been titled Seetha Payanam. The latest announcement is that the actor-director's daughter Aishwarya Arjun will be playing the titular role as Seetha in the film. She joins actor Niranjan Sudhindra who will be playing the lead role as Abhi.
The film will made trilingual, with a release in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. The makers are yet to announce other details such as cast, crew, and plot. It is also yet to be known if Arjun will also star in the film.
Aishwarya Arjun made her debut in the 2013 film Pattathu Yaanai, directed by Boopathy Pandian, opposite Vishal. She last starred in another Arjun Sarja directorial Prema Baraha, released in 2018 which was made simultaneously in Kannada and Tamil (as Sollidava).
Arjun Sarja, who started his acting career with Simhada Mari Sainya (1981) in Kannada and Nandri (1984) in Tamil, made his directorial debut with Sevagan in 1992. The actor has helmed 12 films so far. He recently penned the story for his nephew, Dhruva Sarja's latest outing, Martin.
Seetha Payanam is backed by Arjun's banner Sree Raam Films International. The production house started its journey with Sevagan and has produced 10 films so far.
Last seen in Virundhu, Arjun is currently working on Ajith's Vidaa Muyarchi, which is helmed by Magizh Thirumeni. This film marks Arjun's second collaboration with Ajith, after Mankatha (2011). He also has Theeyavar Kulaigal Nadunga and Aghathiyaa in the pipeline.
