Two days after actor Silambarasan TR said he will next be starring in a film that would be a combination of Dum, Vallavan and Manmadhan with Gen Z sensibilities, the official announcement has dropped stating that the actor will join hands with director Ashwath Marimuthu for the project.
On Monday, AGS Entertainment, the film's production house, made it official that they would bankroll the film tentatively titled AGS 27, with a poster featuring the actor striking the Dum film signature. This is the first time Simbu and AGS are collaborating. The makers say that the film will bring vintage STR back to the screens.
Meanwhile, this film will mark Ashwath Marimuthu's second collaboration with the production house, with the first one Dragon, starring Pradeep Ranganathan, already under production.
Simbu, on the other hand, completed dubbing for his portions in Kamal Haasan-Mani Ratnam's Thug Life, and the production of his 48th film with Desingh Periyasamy is yet to take off. The actor was last seen in Obeli Krishna's Pathu Thala, opposite Gautham Karthik.
Other details regarding AGS 27, such as the plot and rest of the cast, are yet to be made.
