Two weeks after the launch of Tamil TV show Bigg Boss season 8, the makers have revealed the stats regarding the show.
According to an official release, this season's inaugural episode received 9 TVR in Tamil Nadu and 13 TVR in Chennai. In addition to it, there were over 32 million viewers in the first week and over 4.4 billion views, combining TV, digital and Disney+ Hotstar views.
The note further stated that this record viewership is a result of the audience seeing Vijay Sethupathi as an able host.
Bigg Boss 8 began broadcast on October 6 with 18 contestants: Ravindar Chandrasekaran, Sanchana Namidass, Dharsha Gupta, Sathya, Deepak Dinkar, RJ Ananthi, Sunita Gogoi, Gana Jeffry, Ranjith, Pavithra Janani, Soundariya Nanjundan, Arun Prasath, Tharshika, VJ Vishal, Anshitha, Arnav, Muthukumaran and VJ Jacqueline.
A few months ago, it was announced that Kamal Haasan would be replaced by Vijay Sethupathi as the host. Kamal said he is stepping down from the hosting duties due to other commitments.
