
Actor Sarath Kumar's upcoming film with Shanmuga Pandian has been titled Kombuseevi. The film, directed by Ponram, looks to be a gangster drama inspired from events that happened in Andippatti, Usilampatti and Vaigai dam in 1996.
The poster was shared by Sarath Kumar, Shanmuga Pandian and DMDK chief Premalatha Vijayakanth and had the actors holding power at a police station. The officers were inside the prison cell and bending their knees while Sarath Kumar, and Shanmuga Pandian and the rest of their gang were seen holding weapons and taking over the station.
Director Ponram is known for making films like Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam (2013), Rajinimurugan (2016), Seemaraja (2018), MGR Magan (2021), and DSP (2022).
Apart from Shanmuga Pandian and Sarath Kumar, the film also stars Tharnika as the female lead, Kaali Venkat, and Kalki Raja.
Yuvan Shankar Raja will be composing the music for the film, with Yugabharathi and Snekan penning the lyrics. Balasubramaniem will handle the camera, while art direction will be done by Saravana Abiraman and editing will be done by Dinesh Ponraj. The film will be produced by Star Cinemas, for whom this will be their debut venture. A release date for the film is yet to be announced.
Shanmuga Pandian was last seen in the 2018 film Madura Veeran, which was his second film after his 2015 debut, Sagaptham. Sarath Kumar's most recent outing was with Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan which was released in August.
