Actor Tharshan, known for his Bigg Boss Tamil appearance and films such as Koogle Kuttappa and Naadu, will collaborate with debut director Prem Nazeer for his next, Yathreekan. The film is touted to be a crime thriller based on true incidents.
The makers said the first schedule of the film's shoot has concluded, and the second schedule will commence soon. Prem Nazeer has worked as an assistant director to Seenu Ramasamy, Muthaiah, and SR Prabhakaran.
Talking about the film, Prem says, "Yathreekan is a film on the travel vlog. It is about two different individuals and their different ideologies. How a mysterious happening binds their issues together forms the movie's crux." He added that since the male lead's character is effervescent with energy, he believed Tharshan could pull off the role. He lauded actor Kaali Venkat's versatile performances and said he will join the league of legendary talents like Nasser very soon.
Malavika will play the female lead in Yathreekan, while Kaali Venkat, 'Prankster' Rahul, and Banu are cast in supporting roles.
Bankrolled by VG Dhanalakshmi Gopalan of the Rajammal Media Picture, the film's technical crew comprises cinematographer Santhanam Sekar, editor CS Prem, music composer Abhishek, and art director Babhu.
