Two days ahead of its release, Black, the upcoming film of Jiiva and Priya Bhavani Shankar, cleared censorship formalities on Wednesday.

The makers announced that the sci-fi horror film has obtained a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

In an earlier interview with director Balasubramani, he said, "The darkness enveloping us may be referred to as black. In another context, we may use the term ‘Black’ to describe the hidden nature of certain aspects of ours, making it difficult for others to comprehend us. The film centres around this theme, narrated with thriller and racy moments.” He added that the film will lay focus on the events affecting a couple over the course of a night.

Black, produced by Potential Studios, boasts a technical crew comprising cinematographer Gokul Benoy, music composer Sam CS, editor Philomin Raj, stunt choreographer Metro Mahesh, lyricists Madhan Karky and Chandru, and choreographer Sherif.

Black is set to release in theatres on October 11.
