Nayanthara has joined hands with first-time filmmaker Senthil Nallasamy for her next, titled Rakkayie. The announcement was made along with a title teaser on Monday, on the occasion of the actor's birthday.

The title teaser starts by showing Nayanthara living in a hut in a deserted land. A baby cries and Nayanthara, who seems to be his mother, tends to him by feeding him some milk. Further, she also grinds some red chillies using a morter and a pestle. We then see a number of angry men, charging towards her house. On hearing the noise, she arms up with a sickle-headed spear and a smaller sickle, and attacks at them. When her weapons fall down, she is seen using chilli powder to tackle the villains.

Vedikkaranpatti S Sakthivel and Aditya Pittie are producing Rakkayie under the Drumsticks Productions and Movieverse Studios banners, respectively. The film's technical crew comprises music composer Govind Vasantha, cinematographer Gautham Rajendran and editor Praveen Antony.

Details about the film's extended cast and plot are yet to be revealed. Apart from Tamil, the film will also release in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. A release date for Rakkayie is yet to be announced by the makers.
