The cast details of Rajinikanth-Lokesh Kanagaraj's upcoming action film Coolie are being widely speculated in the social media. One such speculation suggests that Sathyaraj will join the cast of Coolie.
Though the makers are yet to give an official word on the same, the speculation gains ground on a recent YouTube video in the channel run by actor Chithra Lakshmanan, where he says he had a conversation with Sathyaraj about his lineup and the latter said he would play Rajini's friend in his upcoming film (without specifying Coolie), and he would play antagonist in Salman Khan's next with AR Murugadoss titled Sikkandar.
If the speculation is something to go by, Sathyaraj will be sharing screen space with Rajinikanth after 38 years. The duo paired last in Mr Bharath which released in 1986.
Written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie has music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Girish Gangadharan, editing by Philomin Raj, stunts by Anbariv, and production design by Sathees Kumar. The dialogues for the film are written by Lokesh along with Chandhru Anbazhagan, who has also written the additional screenplay for the film.
Produced by Kalanithi Maran under his Sun Pictures banner, Coolie is scheduled to release in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada. The film is expected to go on floors from June.
Rajinikanth, meanwhile, wrapped shooting for Vettaiyan directed by TJ Gnanavel which is slated to be released in October this year. The ensemble cast includes Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier, Rana Daggubati, Dushara Vijayan, Rithika Singh, and VJ Rakshan. Apart from them, Amitabh Bachchan too will be seen sharing screen space with Rajini after 33 years since Hum (1991).
