Vijay Kumar's Election clears censorship formalities

The upcoming political thriller, Election has received a U/A certificate. Starring Uriyadi-fame Vijay Kumar and Preethi Asrani in lead roles, the film is directed by Thamizh.

Election will follow a charged local body election caused by caste schism within a political party. The extended cast of Election includes George Maryan, Vathikuchi-fame Dileepan, Richa Joshi, Natchiyal Suganthi, and Pavel Navageethan in important character roles.

Election has dialogues penned by writer Azhagiya Periyavan. On the technical front, Mahendran Jayaraj, who is best known for 96, is the cinematographer while Govind Vasantha is the composer, CS Prem Kumar is the editor, and Renganaath Ravee is the sound designer. 

Bankrolled by Adithya under the Reel Good Films banner, Election will be released in theatres on May 17.
