Joining the list of actors who are making donation towards the construction of the Nadigar Sangam building, Dhanush hands a sum Rs 1 crore to actor M Nasser, the president of The South Indian Artistes Association (SIAA).
The association shared an official release making the contribution public. Along with Nasser, the actors body's treasurer Karthi, and vice president Poochi Murugan gave a courtesy call to Dhanush and thanked him.
The construction which was planned in 2017 after the victory of the Pandavar Ani, led by actor Vishal, in the South Indian Artiste's Association (SIAA) election. The construction ran into several delays due to financial constraints and Covid-19.
It is worth noting that actor-politicians Vijay, Udhayanidhi Stalin, and Kamal Haasan have contributed Rs 1 crore each towards the same cause. Actor Sivakarthikeyan too recently provided a sum of Rs 50 lakhs towards the initiative.
Dhanush, meanwhile, is gearing up for his 50th film Raayan's release on June 13. His big line-up includes Shekhar Kammula's Kubera, Mari Selvaraj's D 52, and Ilaiyaraaja biopic with Arun Matheswaran. The actor is also directing Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam or NEEK, starring a bunch of upcoming actors.
