Thug Life: Silambarasan is indeed the new thug in town

On Wednesday, Raaj Kamal Films International unveiled the first look poster and a glimpse of Silambarasan from their upcoming film Thug Life. Headlined by Kamal Haasan, the film is helmed by Mani Ratnam.

The glimpse shows a Border Patrol car which is in the camouflage colour, being driven at high speed in the middle of a desert. We then find Silambarasan inside the car, as he points his gun out of his car window and shoots. The particular glimpse seems to be set in the deserts of Rajasthan, as the car's number plate reflects a Rajasthan registration.

Silambarasan's entry into the cast comes after Dulquer Salmaan and Jayam Ravi opted out of the film. Besides Kamal Haasan, Trisha, Nassar, and Abhirami too have been cast in crucial roles. Recently, a photo surfaced from the sets of Thug Life, showing the above-mentioned cast members in their new look for the film.

Thug Life is a gangster film that Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan are collaborating on after 36 years of Naayakan, which too is an iconic gangster film. The project was announced last year. The film is a co-production between Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies, Kamal's Raaj Kamal Film International, and Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies.

The technical crew of Thug Life features cinematographer Ravi K Chandran, music director AR Rahman, editor Sreekar Prasad and action directors Anbariv.
