Motion poster of Vaibhav's Chennai City Gangsters out

It is well known that Vaibhav will be headlining his next film titled Chennai City Gangsters. The comedy film has Athulya Ravi playing the female lead. While the first look and the title was revealed last year, the makers have now released the motion poster and the second look of the film.

The motion poster which unfolds as an almost one-minute-long video showcases the gang digging an underground tunnel to get into a much-safeguarded steel vault of what looks like a bank. Once the gang breaks in and loots money and jewellery, we see that that the news spreads like wildfire with police releasing a wanted list for the accused in the case. Following this, the actual poster is revealed where the leads in the film are seen running from the crime scene and police. While Vaibhav is not on the wanted list, it is yet to be seen as to what role he would play.

The film will be helmed by Vikram Rajeshwar and Arun Keshav in their directorial debut. Both of them have directed advertisements earlier. Vikram is the son of writer and director K Rajeshwar who has worked as a writer in films like Kadalora Kavidhaigal, Paneer Pushpangal, Seevelaperi Pandi, Vetri Vizha, to name a few.

Apart from Vaibhav and Athulya, Chennai City Gangsters also stars Anandraj, Rajendran, John Vijay, Redin Kingsley, Sunil Reddy, Ilavarasu, PL Thenappan and others in supporting roles.

Interestingly, Chennai City Gangsters will mark the first time brothers Vaibhav and Sunil will be sharing screen space.

The technical crew consists of D Imman scoring the music, while Tijo Tomy and Suresh A Prasad have been roped in as the cinematographer and editor respectively. Arun Shankar Durai is doing the art direction and stunts are handled by Don Ashok. The film is backed by Bobby Balachandran under his home banner BTG Universal. A release date for the film is yet to be announced.
