The makers of GV Prakash's upcoming film Kalvan have shared the trailer of the film. Directed by cinematographer PV Shankar, the film is set to hit theatres on April 4.

The 2.13-minute-long trailer opens with a person announcing a warning to villagers stating that a huge herd of elephants has entered a forest, posing danger to nearby villagers and their occupation. Many people who have guarded the forest have died of injuries that they sustained due to the animal. Parallely, we see GV Prakash, Dheena and Bharathiraja preparing to enter the forest to steal something, possibly the tusks of elephants. Even when they are warned, they go ahead with their plan. The rest of the trailer shows what happens when his plan is thwarted by dangerous elephants surrounding the forest.

Axess Film Factory is backing this film which also stars Dheena, Bharathiraja, Ivana, G Gnanasambandam, Vinoth Munna, Jenson Dhivakar, Prasanna Balachandran and Nivedita.

The film has been mostly shot in and around the Sathyamangalam forest reserve. Director PV Shankar and Ramesh Aiyappan have jointly scripted Kalvan. Interestingly, the director is handling the film's cinematography as well. Besides playing the lead, GV Prakash has also composed music for the film. Reva has composed the background score for Kalvan.
