Vijay urge students to stay away from drugs

Actor-politician Vijay, while hosting the meet-and-greet event for students who topped their 10th and 12th public examinations, urged the students to refrain from taking drugs. He made the students take the pledge, "Say No To Temporary Pleasure, Say No To Drugs."

Speaking at the event held at the Ramachandra Convention Centre in Tiruvanmiyur, the Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief said he is concerned about the rampant consumption of drugs as a father and a politician.

Advising students not to fall prey to the herd mentality of choosing just medicine and engineering, Vijay said every vocation is good, and it just requires 100 percent dedication to achieve success. He also urged students to get trained in a skill that could get them involved in politics. As TN has world-class doctors, engineers, and lawyers in abundance, now it is in need of leaders.

Today's event was the first of two student meets planned by TVK, while the second meet is scheduled to take place on July 3.
