Prashanth's Andhagan gets a new release window

The much-delayed Andhagan, the Tamil remake of the 2018 Sriram Raghavan directorial Andhadhun, is now slated to release in August. The makers made the announcement on Thursday. While the original starred Ayushmann Khurrana and Tabu in lead roles, the remake stars Prashanth and Simran.

Priya Anand will be seen essaying the role of Radhika Apte in Andhagan. Andhagan is directed by Prashanth’s father and director Thiagarajan and bankrolled by Staar Movies. The film also stars Karthik, Samuthirakani, Urvashi, Yogi Babu and Vanitha Vijayakumar among others.

Andhadhun was also remade in Telugu as Maestro starring Nithiin, Tamannaah, and Nabha Natesh. In Malayalam, it was titled Bhramam with Prithviraj Sukumaran as the lead.

The technical crew of the film includes cinematographer Ravi Yadav, editor Sathish Suriya, and music composer Santhosh Narayanan. An exact release date for Andhagan is yet to be announced.
