Earlier, we reported about writer-director Mari Selvaraj and actor Dhruv Vikram teaming up for a film, titled Bison Kaalamaadan, backed by Applause Entertainment and Pa Ranjith's Neelam Studios. Dhruv has now revealed through Instagram that team Bison Kaalamaadan wrapped the first schedule of production on the film. The actor captioned the Instagram post thus: "Just completed a fiercely intense first schedule of Bison Kaalamaadan. I’m so stoked for you all to see what Mari Selvaraj sir has been cooking. The film went on floors on the first week of May this year. It reunites producer Pa Ranjith and director Mari Selvaraj for the first time after 2018's film Pariyerum Perumal.
Billed as a sports drama, Bison Kaalamaadan is based on the real-life story of the Arjuna Award-winning Kabaddi player Manathi Ganesan. Anupama Parameswaran also plays a significant role in the film. The cast also includes Lal, Pasupathy, Rajisha Vijayan, Hari Krishnan, Azhagam Perumal, and Aruvi Madhanand Kalaiyarasan.
On the technical front, it has music by Nivas K Prasanna, editing by Sakthi Thiru, and cinematography by Ezhil Arasu.
