Actor Vikram has made a significant contribution to the Kerala Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund to help those affected by the Wayanad landslides. The actor's publicist, Yuvraaj announced it through an X post. He captioned the post, "Pained by the sad news of the devastation caused by the recent landslide in Kerala's Wayanad district that left over 150 people dead, 197 injured and several others missing, actor Vikram today donated a sum of Rs 20 lakhs to the Kerala Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund."
This is not the first time Vikram, who acted in many Malayalam films early in his career, starting with the Mammootty starrer Dhruvam, has stepped forward to help the neighbouring state during a crisis. In 2018, with the state reeling from the floods, he made a similar donation to the Distress Relief Fund and wrote a letter to CM Pinarayi Vijayan. Likewise, in 2020, he made a donation to help fund Kerala's COVID relief efforts.
On the work front, Vikram has Thangalaan in the pipeline. The Pa Ranjith directorial, also starring Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy, and Daniel Caltagirone, among others, is slated for an August 15 release in theatres.
