Vikram-Pa Ranjith's Thangalaan obtains U/A certificate

Actor Vikram and Pa Ranjith's most anticipated film, Thangalaan, set against the Kolar Gold Field during the pre-independence era, is slated for release on August 15.

The film has cleared censorship formalities and obtained a U/A certificate from the CBFC.

Thangalaan also stars Parvathy Thiruvothu and Malavika Mohanan in key roles. The film's cast also includes Pasupathy, Daniel Caltagirone, and Hari Krishnan.

Thangalaan is a historical adventure that narrates the role of oppressed communities in the exploration of gold in the South of India.

On the technical team, the film has music by GV Prakash, cinematography by A Kishor Kumar, and editing by Selva RK. Tamil Prabha is the film's co-writer. Studio Green and Neelam Productions are backing Thangalaan.

Releasing on the Independence Day holiday, Thangalaan will be clashing with Prashanth's Andhagan, Keerthy Suresh's Raghu Thatha, and Arulnithi's Demonte Colony 2.
