The first single from actor Vikram's upcoming film, Thangalaan, directed by Pa Ranjith, was released on Wednesday.
The song titled 'Minikki Minikki', has been described by the makers as a 'celebration of souls'. As described, the number portrays a celebration among the villagers of whom the male and female leads, Vikram and Parvathy, are a part.
'Minikki Minikki', composed by GV Prakash, is penned by Uma Devi, with Sinduri Vishal lending her vocals.
Thangalaan also stars Parvathy Thiruvothu and Malavika Mohanan in key roles. The film's cast also includes Pasupathy, Daniel Caltagirone, and Hari Krishnan.
Set against the backdrop of the historic Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) in the early 1900s, Thangalaan is a historical adventure that narrates the erased role of oppressed communities in the exploration of gold in the South of India.
Studio Green and Neelam Productions are backing Thangalaan. The film has music by GV Prakash, marking his first collaboration with the filmmaker. Tamil Prabha is the film's co-writer, while Selva RK and SS Murthi will handle the editing and art departments, respectively.
Thangalaan is set to be released in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
