After a long delay, the makers of Prashanth's Andhagan had recently announced that the film will hit theatres this August. Ahead of its release, a teaser for the film was shared on social media. Andhagan is directed by Prashanth's father and veteran actor-director Thiagarajan.

The nearly one-minute-long trailer opens with actor Prashanth introducing him as a blind pianist. He befriends Priya Anand and they both develop a romantic relationship. On one day, when he goes to Simran's house, he witnesses a murder and tries to report it to the police officials. The rest of the teaser showcases the choas that ensues when Simran is accused of the murder and the repurcussions that Prashanth faces as a result of it.

Andhagan is the official Tamil remake of Sriram Raghavan's 2018 film Andhadhun starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu and Radhika Apte in lead roles.

The ensemble cast of Andhagan also stars Karthik, Samuthirakani, Yogi Babu, Oorvasi, KS Ravikumar, Vanitha Vijaykumar, Leela Samson, Poovaiyar, Besant Ravi and Mohan Vaithiya, among others. Late actor Manobala also has a role in the film as a police official.

On the technical team, the film has music by Santhosh Narayanan, cinematography by Ravi Yadav and editing by Sathish Suriya. The film, bankrolled by Staar Movies, is scheduled to be released in August. An exact date has not been disclosed yet.

It is to be noted that Andhadhun was remade in Telugu as Maestro (2021) starring Nithiin, Tamannaah, and Nabha Natesh, and in Malayalam as Bhramam (2021), with Prithviraj Sukumaran playing the lead.
