It was recently announced that actor Prabhu Deva has teamed up with filmmaker Shakthi Chidhambaram for a comedy film, Jolly O Gymkhana.
The first look poster for the film was released by the filmmakers on Saturday. The poster has Prabhu Deva in a sandwich, which is being carried by the female leads in the film against a beach backdrop.
This will be the third film by the director-actor duo after Charlie Chaplin (2002) and Charlie Chaplin 2 (2019).
In an earlier conversation with CE, Sakthi shared that the unique highlight of his film will be that for the first time in Indian cinema, the star of his film, Prabhu Deva, will play a dead body for the entirety of the film. "A Tenkasi-based family finds a dead person, and are forced to go on a journey that makes them reach Kodaikanal. How the family struggles with this unprecedented situation and goes to all lengths to give him a proper farewell will form the rest of the story," he said, adding that this film will delve into the genre of dark comedy while being a fun-filled ride for everyone.
Apart from Prabhu Deva, Jolly O Gymkhana will star Madonna Sebastian, and actor Abhirami as her mother. Known for the comedy ensemble in his films, Sakthi's next will feature Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Robo Shankar, John Vijay, Sai Dheena, Madhusudhan Rao, and Yashika Aannand in pivotal roles.
Backed by Rajendra M Rajan and Punitha Rajan for Transindia Media & Entertainment Private Limited, the technical crew comprises composer Ashwin Vinayagamoorthy, cinematographer MC Ganesh Chandra, and editor Ramar.
