Jayam Ravi's JR 34 with Ganesh K Babu kickstarts with a pooja ceremony

We had earlier reported that Jayam Ravi is joining hands with director Ganesh K Babu of Dada-fame for his 34th film. Tentatively titled JR 34, the film has officially kickstarted with a pooja ceremony. Actor Daudee Jiwal, the daughter of Tamil Nadu Police's current Director General of Police (DGP), Shankar Jiwal, will be playing the female lead in the film.

The first announcement for JR 34 was made in October with a poster featuring him in a split image with one side in a grey shade and one in white.

Screen Scene Studios is collaborating with Jayam Ravi for the third time after bankrolling Agilan, released in 2023 and his latest film Brother. Harris Jayaraj will be teaming up with the actor for the fifth time after Dhaam Dhoom (2008), Engeyum Kadhal (2011), Vanamagan (2017) and Brother.

Details regarding the rest of the cast members is expected to be announced soon. The technical crew from Dada is once again coming on board to work on the film. Ezhil Arasu K will be handling the cinematography with editing by Kathiresh Alagesan and art direction by Raja. Director Rathna Kumar, who has previously penned the scripts for Master, Vikram, and Leo, will also be writing the script for this upcoming project. A release date is yet to be announced by the makers.

Meanwhile, Jayam Ravi is involved in multiple projects which is in various stages of production. He was last seen in Brother, directed by M Rajesh, which was released theatrically this Diwali. Apart from JR 34, The actor will also star in Kadhalikka Neramillai, directed by Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, a romantic film in which Nithya Menen plays the key role. He has also worked on the fantasy film Genie, directed by debutant Arjunan Jr. which is awaiting release. Jayam Ravi will also be seen playing the lead in the Thani Oruvan sequel, directed by Mohan Raja, which is currently in the works.
