It is well known that Raghava Lawrence is currently working on the film Benz, directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan which will be a part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). With recent reports stating that Madhavan is also part of the project, the Rocketry actor clarified that he has not joined the cast of the film.

In a post on his X handle, he wrote, "Hey this is news to me. As much as it sounds exciting and I would love to be part of a universe like this. I’m surprised with this news because I have no clue about this (sic)." The report further stated that he would play the antagonist in the upcoming film. However, with Madhavan's note, it is clear that he has not been approached for this film.

Benz is the first LCU film that director Lokesh Kanagaraj will not be directing. He has written the story and will be producing it under his G Squad banner. The upcoming film will have music composed by 'Katchi Sera' and 'Aasa Kooda' fame Sai Abhyankkar and will mark his debut in film composing.

Madhavan was last seen as the antagonist in the Hindi film Shaitaan, directed by Vikas Bahl which was released in March this year. Up next, he is awaiting the release of Adhirshtasaali with director Mithran Jawahar, Amriki Pandit, helmed by Kalpesh Garg and Test, directed by S Sashikanth. He also has De De Pyaar De 2, Shankara, and Dhurandhar in the pipeline.

Apart from these, he also has an untitled film with Fatima Sana Shaikh produced by Dharmatic Entertainment and another with Akshay Kumar and Ananya Pandey based on a major case fought against the British by barrister Chettur Sankaran Nair.
