Vishnu, a young boy from the small village of Gurukulampatti in Tamil Nadu’s Pudukottai district, has become a symbol of hope for his community through his extraordinary journey on Super Singer Junior Season 10. Vishnu’s family, struggling as daily wage labourers, lived in a village plagued by decades-long challenges, including a lack of access to clean drinking water. Despite their hardships, Vishnu nurtured a love for music. His talent shone during the auditions for the competition, where he earned a place among the top contestants. On his first day, his soulful rendition of 'Athai Maga Unna Ninaichu' mesmerised the judges, including playback legends Mano and Chithra, and composer D Imman.
Touched by his humble background, hosts Ma Ka Pa Anand and Priyanka gifted him essential items, including a TV and gas stove. However, Vishnu’s dreams extended beyond personal success—he wanted to alleviate his village’s water crisis.
Hearing Vishnu’s story, actor and philanthropist Raghava Lawrence took swift action. Working with local authorities, he helped install a borewell in Gurukulampatti, giving residents access to clean drinking water for the first time. For the villagers, Vishnu is more than a rising star; he is a hero. As one villager emotionally expressed, “Clean water is life itself. Vishnu’s voice brought us this gift.”
