Actors Vijay Sethupathi, who is basking in the success of his 50th film Maharaja, and Nithya Menen, fresh off a National Award win, are joining hands for their upcoming project.
Production house Sathya Jyothi Films made an official announcement on Friday that the two will play the lead in the film directed by Pandiraj. This untitled project would be the first collaboration between the actors and the director. It is worth noting, Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen had a small combination scene in 19 (1) (a).
In her recent interview, after her National Award win for Best Actress, to Cinema Express, Nithya Menen had mentioned she is working with Vijay Sethupathi. She said, "we wouldn’t have gotten a better script."
Billed as a family entertainer, the shoot is already underway, and Nithya Menen is expected to join the sets soon.
The makers will be unveiling the rest of the cast and crew members soon.
Last seen in Maharaja, Vijay Sethupathi also has Ace as his 51st film with Aarumuga Kumar, who made the actor's 2018 film Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren. Meanwhile, Nithya Menen has Kadhalikka Neramillai, which is under post-production, and her yet-to-go-on-floors film Dear Exes, in the pipeline.
