Days after director Vijay Milton caused ripples by claiming that an exposition scene had been placed without his knowledge, in his latest film Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan, actor Vijay Antony, who played the lead in the film, issued a clarification that he was not aware of the scene's inclusion.
Responding to criticisms that it was him who added that scene, Vijay Antony clarified on Monday that it was not him, with those words in Tamil as the header of his statement. He went on to add that Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan is not a sequel to Salim (2014).
Vijay Milton, the director of the recently released Vijay Antony-starrer Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan, had given rise to controversy last week when he stated that a one-minute exposition scene was inserted at the beginning of the film without his knowledge. The statement gave rise to much discussion within the industry.
On Saturday, actor-politician Sarath Kumar, who also plays a role in Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan, posted a video where Vijay Milton issued a new clarification to the issue. The director in the video says that the previously mentioned one-minute scene has now been removed from the film.
The Goli Soda director also thanked Sarath Kumar for helping sort out the issue amicably.
Released on August 2, Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan also stars Sathyaraj, Megha Akash, Dhananjay, Murali Sharma, Sharanya Ponvannan, Thalaivasal Vijay and Pruthvi Ambaar, among others. The action thriller is produced by Kamal Bohra, Lalitha Dhananjayan, Pradeep B, Pankaj Bohra, and S Vikram Kumar of Infiniti Film Ventures.
