Ashika Ranganath joins Karthi's Sardar 2

After Malavika Mohanan, Kannada actor Ashika Ranganath has joined the cast of Karthi's Sardar 2. A sequel to the 2022 film Sardar, Sardar 2 is helmed by PS Mithran, the director of the original.

Sardar 2 went on floors in July and the makers announced that SJ Suryah has been added to the film's cast. The makers are yet to confirm whether the rest of the cast of Sardar, including Raashi Khanna and Munishkanth, will return for the sequel.

Also returning are George C Williams as the cinematographer and Dhilip Subbarayan as the stunt director. Yuvan Shankar Raja replaced GV Prakash as the music composer, and Vijay Velukutty replaced Antony L Ruben as the editor.

Sardar 2 is produced by Lakshman Kumar under his Prince Pictures banner.

Meanwhile, Ashika, who made her Tamil film debut with Pattathu Arasan currently has Siddharth's Miss You, the Tamil film directed by N Rajasekar in the pipeline. She also has the Kannada film Gathavaibhava and the Telugu film Vishwambhara in various stages of production.
