Indru Netru Naalai 2 to be helmed by Bharath Mohan

Director Bharath Mohan, who has previously helmed films like Igloo (2019), and the recently released Ippadikku Kaadhal (2024), will be directing the sequel to Ravikumar's 2015 sci-fi comedy Indru Netru Naalai. The film will be jointly produced by CV Kumar and S Thangaraj under the Thirukumaran Entertainment and Thangam Cinemas banners.

The sequel comes nine years after Indru Netru Naalai which starred Vishnu Vishal, Miya George, and Karunakaran in lead roles. The script for Indru Netru Naalai 2 will be penned by the director of the original, Ravikumar, whose recent directorial is Sivakarthikeyan's Ayalaan.

Bharath Mohan has previously worked as an assistant director to CV Kumar for Maayavan. Both his films, Igloo and Ippadikku Kaadhal are romantic dramas, while Indru Netru Naalai 2 is billed to be a sci-fi similar to the original film, with a time travel theme.

As per an official press note, Bharath Mohan said, "Indru Netru Naalai which was released in 2015 with a new plot attracted people and was much talked about. It is a great pleasure to direct its sequel, produced by CV Kumar and written by director Ravikumar, who are the producer and the director, respectively, of the first part. A time travel story, Indru Netru Naalai 2 will also find a place in the hearts of the fans."

While the makers are yet to reveal details regarding the upcoming sequel's cast and crew, it has been announced that Ballu will crank the camera for the film. He has previously handled cinematography for films like Ghajinikanth and Poikkaal Kudhirai. Indru Netru Naalai 2 is slated to go on floors in June this year.
