The teaser of Birthmark, the upcoming Tamil film starring actors Shabeer Kallarakkal and Mirnaa in the lead roles, was released by the makers on social media on Friday.
The film is directed by Vikram Shreedharan, who has also written the script along with Sriram Sivaraman. The upcoming film will mark the first time the actors are collaborating. Birthmark is billed as a mystery thriller.
The teaser begins with a note that due to scores of women dying every year on the account of complications in pregnancy and childbirth, Jennifer took his wife Jennifer to a birthing village. Daniel is shown massaging the pregnant belly of Jennifer, as the birthing village is introduced. As the place is shown to be secluded and sans facilities, a few disturbing visuals are shown. Daniel is shown to continue massaging as Jennifer’s discomfort and pain. Visuals symptoms of capture and characters getting tortured are shown in intercut.
The duo is also producing Birthmark. The technical crew consists of cinematographer Udhay Thangavel, with music composed by Vishal Chandrashekhar. Ramu Thangaraj has handled the art direction and Iniyavan Pandiyan is the editor. Birthmark is presented by Sapiens Entertainment. PR Varalakshmi, Indirajith, Porkodi, and Deepthie are also part of the cast.
Meanwhile, Shabeer was last seen in Malayalam film King of Kotha, where he played the antagonist opposite Dulquer Salmaan. On the other hand, Mirnaa was seen in Jailer.
