The ICC Cricket ODI World Cup is set to begin on October 5, and it is happening in India for the first time since 2011. The last time, the World Cup was conducted in the country, India lifted the trophy for the second time ever.
Ahead of the World Cup, BCCI supremo Jay Shah met Rajinikanth at the latter's residence to hand him the 'Golden Ticket' that will allow the actor to watch any match this World Cup. In a tweet, Jay had said, "Honoured to present the golden ticket to the unparalleled cinematic icon, Shri Rajinikanth! His charisma knows no bounds and his passion for cricket is well-known. The Cricket World Cup will begin on October 5, and the finals will be held on November 19.
