Actor Vishal launched the first look of Cicada, a Kannada film, which is all set to go the multilingual route as the makers are planning to release the film in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. The movie is directed by Sreejith Edavana.

Cicada, touted to be an edge-of-the-seat survival thriller, is a pan-Indian film simultaneously made in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada. The film marks the directorial debut of music director Sreejith Edavana, who has carved a niche of excellence, by becoming the first-ever music director to compose fresh tracks for all the versions. This results in a total of 24 new compositions spanning all four languages.

Speaking with CE, Sreejith explained that the film is based on the concept of karma and encompasses all forms of music including hip-hop, drop music and folk. "In order to appeal to the regional audience and their culture, each track was composed in a unique way. The music is made in Malayalam, it would have a particular essence, but for the same situation, the track would not make sense in Tamil,"

Cicada is produced by Vandana Menon and Gopakumar P under the banner Theerna Films and Entertainment. The film’s star cast includes Rajith CR, Jaise Jose, Gayathri Mayoora, and many more prominent actors. This movie has been shot straight in 4 languages, Tamil Malayalam Telugu, and Kannada.
