With just a day to go for the release of the much-anticipated Vijay-starrer Leo's release, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the TN Theatres Association, led by Thirupur Subramaniam has confirmed that theatres will no longer be allowed to conduct special screenings of teasers or trailers.
This decision came after the fans of the actor broke seats and tore seat covers on the day of the film's trailer launch that took place at Rohini theatres on October 5.
Earlier, Seven Screen Studios Production, filed a petition before the Madras High Court requesting to allow the film to be screened as early as 4 a.m. on day 1 in Tamil Nadu. However, Justice Anita Sumanth, refrained from passing the order on the same. Shows for Leo will open in theatres only at 9 a.m. on the release day and thereafter.
Leo, written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, also stars Trisha, Mysskin, Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, Priya Anand, and Mansoor Ali Khan among others. The film marks the second collaboration of Vijay with Lokesh after Master.
Although it is unclear whether Leo will be a part of Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), actor-politician Udhayanidhi Stalin, in a tweet mentioned the word in a hashtag after watching the film. This has further amped up the hype and excitement for the film.
Backed by Lalit Kumar's 7Screen Studio, Leo has been given a U/A certificate by CBFC.
