Trisha's latest outing, The Road, is currently running in theatres and is garnering mixed reviews. Apart from Trisha, the film also stars Shabeer Kallarakal and Miya George in prominent roles. The latter plays Trisha's close friend in the film, helmed by Arun Vaseegaran.

On Wednesday, the actor took to her official Instagram handle to pen a note on why The Road is a very special film for her. Stating her first reason, she said, "When director Arun Vaseegaran narrated me 'The Road' movie story and my character I got excited because of multiple reasons. It was the first movie post-delivery and Luca was about to turn 1 year old when I committed the movie. I was excited to be able to get back to the job I love."

Further, sharing her camaraderie with Trisha, she wrote, "The second reason was Trisha, who I grew up watching on the screen. When the director narrated scenes I understood that all of my scenes are with Trisha. To my awe she was the best co-actor anyone would get. We spoke a lot about family, food, friends, movies etc. We realised we have some things in common too. Like she and my son share the same birthday, being part of girls' gang etc. I never expected her to be this friendly. She is a beauty inside out."

Santhosh Prathap, MS Bhaskar, Vivek Prasanna, and Vela Ramamoorthy, round out the cast of The Road. The film, touted to be a thriller, is stated to be based on a real-life incident which happened in the early 2000s. AAA Cinema Private Limited is backing The Road. The technical crew consists of Sam CS scoring the music, with KG Venkatesh behind the camera. AR Shivaraj is the editor.
