Lyricist and filmmaker Srikumaran Thambi has been honoured with the Vayalar Ramavarma Memorial Award for literature for his autobiography Jeevitham Oru Pendulum. Appreciating the veteran for the remarkable feat, actor Kamal Haasan, who earlier collaborated with him, penned a note on his social media handle.
Kamal began the note by mentioning his film with Thambi. " My beloved Srikumaran Thambi is a versatile Malayalam artist who is a poet, lyricist, director, screenwriter, novelist and producer. I played the role of Premkumar along with Prem Naseer and Saradha in the movie Thiruvonam directed by him." He wrote
Kamal further extended his wishes to the multi-hyphenated film personality. "Kerala's highest award, the Vayalar Award, has been announced to Srikumaran Thambi for his autobiographical book Jeevitham Oru Pendulum. My heartiest congratulations to Srikumaran Thambi."

The award comprises a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000, a citation, and a bronze figurine crafted by Kanayi Kunhiraman. The award will be presented on October 27.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Kamal Haasan was last seen in Vikram. The actor has a slew of films in the pipeline, including Indian 2, Kalki 2898 AD, H. Vinoth's directorial KH 233 and KH 234 with Mani Ratnam.
