Paruthiveeran row: After Sasikumar, Samuthirakani slams Gnanavelraja's clarification statement

It has been a day since producer KE Gnanavelraja issued a clarification on the ongoing Paruthiveeran row by trying to put an end to it. Reacting to the statement, director-actor Sasikumar called out his words as fake and asked him what are the false allegations that Ameer made on Gnanavelraja.

Now, actor-director Samuthirakani has also slammed the producer's clarification statement. In a note that he released on his X handle, he told him that his words expressing deep sadness won't count and asked him to apologize.

The statement in Tamil read, "Brother, the words expressing deep sadness won't count. What you have to do is... You will have to apologize the same way you publicly humiliated someone with your ugly body language. The disgusting and sub-par interview that you gave needs to be taken down from social media. Every penny that you had cheated from us during that time needs to be returned. We need to return the money that many had loaned to us."

It further read, "After that, the actors and technicians who worked in Paruthiveeran still haven't received their salaries yet. All of them are from humble backgrounds unlike you who are from Ambani's family."

For context, the clarification note from Gnanavelraja read, "The Paruthiveeran case has been going on for 17 years now. I have not spoken about it until very recently. I always refer to the director as 'Ameer Anna'. I have been very close with his family members from the very beginning. The false allegations he placed on me in his recent interviews, were very hurting to me. If the words I used to reply to him, hurt him in any way, then I regret it deeply. I have immense respect for the Cinema field which is my bread and butter, and the people who work in it."

For the unversed, the Paruthiveeran controversy revolves around Ameer and his faction alleging that Studio Green's Gnanavelraja refused to fund money for the film, midway, and that he put in the money to complete the film. However, Gnanavelraja is credited as the producer. So, Ameer has filed a case against the producer seeking proper compensation and rights for the film. This case has been going on in court for more than a decade now.
